Junk Vehicle Initiative

0212- JunkVehicleInitiative- FB

In recent years the City has experienced an unsightly accumulation of junked vehicles in many neighborhoods that became a concern for both residents and city officials. In response, the City began a city-wide effort last May through its Police and Code Enforcement operations to address and abate vehicles that were in violation of city regulations. a total of 197 such vehicles were identified and received formal Notices of Violation. This is in addition to 34 vehicles being towed and 23 other vehicles being deemed abandoned. Of that amount, 197 vehicles were voluntarily brought into compliance by their owners. We are extremely pleased with the progress made while working with the citizens to comply with local and state laws.
